Famous Trees of Texas

Famous Trees of Texas explores the elite group of trees that witnessed exciting events in Texas’ frontier history.

It’s been said that every tree tells a story, and if Texas’ trees could speak, what a story they would tell. Love, honor, betrayal, justice, mystery, and death.

Famous Trees of Texas was orginially published as a book in 1970 by Texas A&M Forest Service.

The 3rd Edition was published in 1984 and in 2015, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Texas A&M Forest Service, we published a Centennial Edition featuring some old favorites and some newly designated trees.
